Best in the world tour
« on: September 30, 2010, 10:49:15 AM »
Here is one for all the world travelers I have trekked all over the world, making it down lots of mountain trails. The idea of cycling interests me because I like biking and I enjoy camping. I have a problem - Where in the world to go. I live in the USA so that's my base ( east coast}. Anyone like to tell me where I should go that will be the end all cycle camping experience ? The time line is February - March, not looking to go to a cold climate ( much below 40 at night or 68 during the day].  I will take a frame-less  pack and boots to hit trails. I am very interested in all your comments!

My favorite places after 5 years of touring are the following:
Northern Argentina-Northern Chile-Southern Bolivia: all year around, but cold at night.
Southern Argentina and Soutern Chile: November to March
Colombia: All year around
Middle East: All year around, but autumn and spring probably best.
Tibet: September-November
New Zealand: less adventurous, but beautiful in Febr-March.
Closer to your home, Florida is nice in March, Blue Ridge Parkway a bit later in the year.

Thanks for the info, I decided to go NZ , I want to see clean scenery , havving last traveled to India and Nepal, which had beautiful scenery but an air of ecological apocalypse. This will be my 3rd trip but first time cycle camping/..I liked your suggestions I talk it you travel a lot.
