visa for Lybia
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:37:05 AM »
Hello,
I am wondering how the visa situation in Lybia is these days.
Does anyone have any recent info about cyclists getting a visa for more than a few days. And of course not traveling with an escort van and having all nights arranged beforehand in hotels.
There are very few accounts of cyclists getting through, but sometimes it seems to be possible with the right connections.
Thanx,
Peter

I think it is impossible alone. And with escort maybe a lot of money. Not sure if it worth. What about Bhutan?

Hi Peter,

Your right, theres not many stories out there, I just just read the book from Riaan Manser and in managed it in 2004 (i think) but with alot of help from the SA embassy.

In the mean time you could check out the HUBB forum they have alot of motorbike related tips that are also handy for cyclist.

i read that book as well. He got a lot of help from the SA embassy all over the continent.
I don't think he is the only one who got the visa, but clearly not many people do.
Still, I keep reading that the country is opening up.
